Although the doctor (Mike) seemed to be very knowledgeable, the rest of the staff is rather unprofessional. I spent 2.5 hours at my initial appointment, and I was waiting for the therapist a good portion of that time. He repeatedly left the area I was in, and I could hear him having conversations with other staff about weekend activities, good restaurants, etc. He would come back for a few minutes, tell me to do an exercise, then go off again to talk some more. He didn't watch me doing the exercises to ensure my form was correct or anything. All in all, I probably had his attention about 30-40 minutes of that 2.5 hours.

As a result, I really don't know whether they are competent therapists or not - but I do know that they have active social lives. They also like sports bars and Mexican restaurants. If I had been looking for someone to hang out with, this may have been helpful. However, I was looking for someone to provide medical expertise and to teach me exercises that would strengthen my knee. I didn't get much of that at all.

I decided to give them one more chance, so I went to my second appointment. I had a female therapist this time, who did the exact same thing. The chit chat was constant throughout and made the appointment take much longer than necessary. Also, the therapist's attention was diverted the whole time. I had to repeat questions or say 'excuse me' to get their attention. At one point, I stopped an exercise due to pain, and the therapist didn't even notice for several minutes. She then put an ice pack on my injured area and went back to her conversation.

I have been going to ProCare in Wilkes-Barre for over a year. The staff is friendly and knowledgeable. I have CP which affects my left side. 3 strokes have weakened the leg considerably. They developed a plan to build the leg up and although it will never be as strong as it once was the plan has helped me tremendously. All I can say to them is, "Thank you!"

Additionally, even though my copay and insurance coverage was verified before my first appointment, I received a bill with differing amounts than what I had been told. This was altogether a negative experience. I've since completed my physical therapy at Geisinger, where the staff was knowledgeable, helpful, professional, and taught me a lot.
